Stark
Quintes Walter Stark Sr., was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Burton, to Otto and Anna Janko Stark.
He passed away at his home Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the age of 86. Quintes attended the
Victoria School between Nelsonville and Bleiblerville, and played semi-pro baseball in his youth. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1942-1946 during
World War II.
He married his sweetheart, Theresa Zettel, on Sept. 30, 1960, in Welcome.
Together they made their home in Addicks, Texas, until his retirement from Wyatt Metal and Boiler
Works, Inc., when they moved to Nelsonville.
Quintes was a blacksmith by trade, and he enjoyed watching the Houston Astros. He had a
passion for fishing and hunting squirrels, and treasured the time he spent playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Theresa Lilly Stark; son Quintes Stark, Jr. and
his wife, Elida; daughter Lisa Kaspar and her husband, Gregory, all of Nelsonville; grandchildren Quintes Stark, III, Ashley Stark,
Mikayla Stark, Lilly Kaspar, all of Nelsonville; sisterMamie Lorenz and her husband, Edward, of Kenney; sisters-in-law Virginia Stark, of
Bleiblerville, and Betty Stark of Tyler; brothers-in-law Charlie Zettel and his wife, Darlene, of Nelsonville, Lawrence Zettel of Nelsonville,
Henry Zettel and his wife, Susan, of Alief, Jerry Krenek of Industry; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Posted by Joy Neely
