Tegeler
Hilda Tegeler, 91, widow of Benhard Tegeler, died Dec. 4, 2008 in Trinity Medical Center in
Brenham.
Mrs. Tegeler was born Dec. 24, 1916 to Herman and Lydia (Wehring) Ahrens. She was baptized and
later confirmed in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin.
On Nov. 30, 1939, she married Benhard Herman Tegeler in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. Mr.
and Mrs. Tegeler were members of Top Cat Dance Club in Brenham. Mrs. Tegeler was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, as well as
the Ladies Aid. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed tending her flowers. Outgoing and generous, she never met a stranger.
Survivors include son and a daughter-in-law Glenn and Christine Tegeler of Spring; son,
Kenneth Tegeler of Brenham; grandchildren: Curtis Tegeler, Stacey Burk, Keith Lorentz, Tammy Lorentz, Kara Tegeler and Nicole LeeMaster; great-grandchildren: Kadi,
Paige, and Hailey Tegeler, Bailey and Shelby Pine, Hanna Siptak and Jaydon M. Thomas; brother and sister-in-law Herman and Joyce Ahrens of Brenham; sisters
Mary Winkelmann of Lufkin, and Alice Rust of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law Helen and Herbert Niensteadt of Brenham, and Mildred and Steve Franklin of
Hempstead. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Hilda (Ahrens) Tegeler will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg with Pastor Robert L. Sorensen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends
and relatives Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Serving as pallbearers are Donald Ahrens, Roger Winkelmann, Gerald Ahrens, Butch Grebe,
