Benita D. Tejada was born on the 13th day of March 1936, in Galeana N.L.
Mexico, the daughter of Perfecto and Anjelita Delgado. She grew up and
attended school in San Benito, Texas. 
Benita was united in marriage with Antonio Tejada and moved to the
Brookshire/Pattison area in 1958.
A 31-year member of the First Baptist Church in Brookshire, Benita was also
a long time member of AARP, and enjoyed volunteering at the church.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Benita treasured the time she was
able to spend with her family and friends.
She passed away peacefully at a Katy hospital on Monday, the 21st of January
2008, at the age of 71.
She is survived by her sons Joe Garcia of Pattison, Oscar Garcia of
Brookshire, Ricky Tejada and his wife, Shannon, of Katy; grandchildren Treš
Martinez of Ashburn, Va., Adrianna and Alexa Tejada of Katy, Cade Antonio
Garcia of Katy; sisters Eufemia Delgado Lugo of Rosenberg, Catalina Vega of
Galeana, Mexico; brother Francisco Delgado of San Luis Potosi, Mexico and
other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Tejada, her daughter, Rosa
Martinez and many siblings.
Friends called from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the Schmidt
Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire.
Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the First
Baptist Church in Brookshire with Pastor Bob Craig officiating and Pastor
David V. Thomas co-officiating.
Private interment will follow in the Kunze Cemetery.

Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire was in charge of arrangements.
