Funeral Services for Cornelia Vitek, 88, were held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek with the Rev. Thy Quang Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Frydek. Pallbearers were Richard Mican, Dwayne Vitek, Justin Jackson, Keith Hugo, Jimmy Vitek, Kenneth Vitek, Mark Mican and Josh Hugo.
Mrs. Vitek passed away July 9, 2008 in Katy. Cornelia Mary Prihoda was born in Ellinger, Texas to parents Louis and Annie Masaryk Prihoda. Cornelia was raised in Ellinger and attended public school there.
She married Emil W. Vitek on July 8, 1940 in Ellinger. Martha was a homemaker, member of KJZT in Frydek, Catholic Daughters in Sealy, the Altar Society in Frydek and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Raymond Mican of Rosenberg, Carol and Wayne Lee of Houston, Shirley and Edwin Hanzelka, Jr. of Rosenberg, Vivian and Jerry Jackson of San Felipe, Denise and David Hugo of Bellville, sons and daughters-in-law, James and Angie Vitek of Chappell Hill and Alvin A. and Doris Vitek of Frydek, sisters, Gladys Polasek and husband Larry of Ellinger and Lena Saha of El Maton, brother Lebert Prihoda and wife Scholly of Fresno, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Annie Prihoda, husband, Emil W. Vitek, daughters, Rosemary and Mary Jane Vitek, sister, Anita Hrachovy, brothers, Fred, Robert, Louis and Sylvester Prihoda..
Funeral services were held under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy.
