Funeral Services for J.O. Ware, 85, of Sealy were held Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. from Knesek Bros. Hwy 36 Chapel with David Massey officiating. J.O.
passed away on March 20, 2008 in Austin, Texas.
Interment was at the Sealy Cemetery.
J.O. Ware was born in Roans Prairie, Texas to parents, Henry Oscar and Ottie Williams Ware. He was raised in Grimes County attended Anderson schools and
graduated from Navasota High School where he was a Track and Field Star. He married the former Miss Gloria Kruse in 1944.
J.O served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was Honorably Discharged in December of 1945. While in the Navy he won a Boxing Championship. J.O.
worked in various Businesses at Management positions. He was Division Manager for General Telephone and Electric, District Manager for Houston Natural Gas
Company, Business Manager for Arabia Temple of Houston, Vice President of Highland Village State Bank, Owner of Joe Ware Inc. Realtors. He retired to Bellville in
1983 and married Mary Loescher in 1998. At the age of 70 he won nine medals in the 1992 Senior Olympics. He loved animals and befriended an abandoned dog
which made the news in several area newspapers as “Lonesome Dog” He was a member of Sealy Church of Christ, American Legion, Jaycee’s and the
Rotary Club.
Survivors include his son, Michael W. Ware, grandsons, Randall Ware, Kelly Ware and Michael T. Ware, granddaughter, Emily M. Isbell, great granddaughters,
Shelby Ware, Megan Ware, Amanda Ware and great grandson, Josh Ware.
He was Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ottie Ware, first wife, Gloria Kruse Ware, second wife, Mary Loescher Ware, and brothers, Elvie
and Uhland Ware.
Funeral arrangements were held under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy.
