Bobby Warmke, 75, of Brenham passed away Wednesday. Feb. 27, 2008 at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center.
Bobby was born Aug. 14,1932 to parents Arnold Louis Warmke and Gladys Blaschke Warmke in Bleiblerville. He was baptized and confirmed in Welcome Lutheran Church and on July 25, 1959 he was married to Verlin Wittliff in the same church by the Rev. Walter Wolf and where he remained a lifelong member.
Bobby served our country in the United States Navy. He received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas. Bobby was an employee of Dresser Industries as an electrical engineer. Memberships include Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome, SPJST in Bleiblerville, Farm Bureau and American Legion in Shelby.
He loved his children and grandchildren and loved his cattle. His interests were farming, bass fishing, bailing hay, playing cards and dominoes. He was a big fan of University of Texas sports especially U.T. football.
His father Arnold Warmke, sisters-in-law Wanda Wittliff, Bernice Wittliff, father-in-law and mother-in-law William, Sr. and Lillie Wittliff preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife Verlin Warmke of Brenham; mother Gladys Warmke of Bleiblerville; children Robert Warmke and wife Connie of Brenham, Sally Cotton and husband Donald of Round Rock, Michael Warmke and wife Laura of Bonham, William Warmke, Sr. and wife Rose Marie of Brenham; grandchildren Nicole and Wesley Warmke, Garik, Gregory, Luke and Samantha Cotton, Morgan, Nicklaus and Colton Warmke, William, Jr. and Brandul Warmke; brother Marvin Warmke and wife Zeta of Hugo, Okla.; sisters Jean Ehler and husband Leehman of La Grange, Bonnie Schulz and husband David of New Ulm; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Delphine Wittliff of Houston, Vernon and Patti Wittliff of Houston, Willie Wittliff, Jr. of Angleton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family present was from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb, 28, 2008.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome. Pastor Jim Abbott officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steven Ehler, Brian Ehler, Dave Schutz, Billy Warmke, Lee O'Dell Warmke and Bobby Luedeker.
Memorials may be given to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Welcome.
Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel in Brenham.
