Bertha Wright, 91, of Sealy, peacefully passed away Friday, March 28, 2008. Funeral services were held Monday, March 31, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Sealy with Rev. Mike Habermehl officiating. Pallbearers were David Machala, Ryan Machala, Joey Schneider, Tim Means, Jerry Means, Larry Means and Steve Means. Interment was at Field Store Cemetery in Waller County. Bertha Mae Wright was born in Waller County  to parents, Jack  and Ida (Braband) Means, she was raised in Waller County and attended School there.   On January 19, 1935 she  was united in marriage to Alfred Wright.
Bertha and Alfred were blessed to have had each other for 67 years. They had one son, Lonnie. Bertha was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family. Granny, as she was known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, willing and eagerly volunteered to keep them as often as she could. She loved to play games, assemble puzzles and watch television with them. She always had her camera ready to capture treasured pictures of them.  She and Alfred also spent hours playing cards with Bertha’s family. Bertha was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church and Sealy Eastern Star.
Bertha is survived by son, Lonnie Wright and wife Jennifer, grandchildren, Wendy and David Machala, Robin and Joey Schneider, Melanie and Hudson Goyen, mother of her grandchildren, Billie Wright, great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hope and Morgan Machala and Brooke Schneider and Taylor and Jacob Goyen, brothers, Pete Means and wife Louise, Jack Means and wife Gisela, I.B. Means and wife Dixxie, sister, Dorothy Durdin, sisters-in-law, Annie Means, Irene Means and Marie Wright, brothers-in-law, Alfred Durdin and Allen Wright and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alfred who died in 2002, brothers, Joe Means and Tommy Means, sister, Inez Durdin, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Clara Wright, brothers-in-law, Leon Durdin and Carl Wright.
Funeral services were held under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy. (979) 885-3535.
