Funeral Survices for Tekla Margaret Zapalac, 85, of Sealy, Texas were held Wednesday, March 19, 2008, 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with the Rev. Eric Petre celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal.
Interment was at the Imaculate Conception Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Zapalac, Edward Schoppe, Lawrence Drews, Jr., Douglas Schoppe, Martin Schoppe and Brian Drews.  Honorary pallbearers were Jake Schiller, Jason Zapalac and Mathew Zapalac.
Tekla was the daughter of Steve and Sophie (Gajewsky) Haczynski. She was a cook for Sealy School District, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of Sealy. She loved her home, cooking, gardening and especially her family.
Survivors: Children: Elizabeth Schoppe of Wallis, James Zapalac and wife La Verne of Willow Springs, Doris Fountain and husband Johnny of Sealy, Martin Zapalacjr. and wife Marie of Clear Lake, Dennis Louis Za-palac and wife Janette of Livingston, Jeanette Drews and husband Lawrence of Cypress, Johnny Zapalac of Katy, David Zapalac and wife Theresa of Katy and Debbie Zook and husband Gregg of Orchard. Sister, Martha Schneider of Sealy, brother, Steve Haczynski and wife Lillian of Katy. 14 grand-children, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  Preceded in death: Parents, Steve and Sophie Haczynski, husband, Martin Zapalac, sister, Sophie Novickie, brother, Paul Haczynski, great grandchildren, Amanda Majeski and Cassidy Schoppe.
