Lenore Schluens Ashley, 75, of Katy, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 in Houston.

Born on Oct. 7, 1937 to Sidney Schluens and Elfrieda (Schavrda) Schluens she graduated from Bellville High School in the Class of �56.

She married Jimmy Fay Ashley on Nov. 24, 1963 in Bellville. Lenore spent most of her business life working for banks in the Houston area. She was an active member of the Houston Gun Collectors Association and attended St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Minks and her husband Leonard, Jr. of Katy, two grandsons David Minks and Austin Minks, sister-in-law Esther Ashley of Houston, nephew James Lee Ashley of Houston, sister-in-law Marilyn Bowie and husband Jim of Longview, brother-in-law Alfred Jacobs and wife Carolyn of Santa Fe and aunt Dorothy Louis of Bellville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Laraine Fitch and a brother-in-law James Ashley and in-laws Jack Ashley, Velma Ashley, Dorothy Ashley.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Bellville with Rev. Jennie Jones officiating. Interment was in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
