Mae Virginia Kendrick Gindorf, 98, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, March 9, 2012.
She was born in Bellville on Aug. 29, 1913, to the late Mae Virginia and Wyly Kendrick,
Bellville.
Mae Virginia graduated from Bellville High School in 1931 and attended Mary Hardin Baylor
University, Belton, and Lasalle University Business School, Houston, majoring in Business Administration and Spanish.
She worked as an Executive Secretary to the President, for most of her career in Houston for
Gulf Coast Investment Corporation, retiring in 1978.
On June 12, 1938, she was united in Holy Matrimony with the late Morris S. Gindorf, of
Bellville, at First Baptist Church, Bellville.
No children were born to this union, but Mae and Morris were a great and loving aunt and uncle
to their nieces and nephews throughout their lives.
Mae Virginia was a faithful Christian woman and member of West University Baptist Church in
Houston. She was an active member of the National Secretaries Association and Executive Women International for many years.
She was inducted into the President�s Advisors Christian Women organization for Houston
Baptist University and served as Secretary for Houston Baptist University Auxiliary. For many years she participated in the Women of Rotary Club of
Houston serving as an officer in several capacities.
Mae Virginia devoted her life to helping her family, friends and loved ones in times of need
and spent many volunteer hours serving those in need at her church and community where she lived and worked.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyly Milton and Mae Virginia Kendrick, her husband,
Morris S. Gindorf, sister, Violet Andrews, two brothers, Roy Kendrick, and Hammack Kendrick.
Mae is survived by Glendora Gindorf, sister-in-law, loving nieces, Sandy Cherry, Glenna
Pierpont, Judy Evans, Beverly Snell, Nina Swanson, Valerie Wright and Deanna Mosler, loving nephews, Thomas Gindorf, Robert Gindorf and Jackie Gindorf,
grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and many friends.
The family wishes to thank Mae�s many caregivers from Clarewood House, Extended Care Center,
Houston and the Silverado Hospice, Sugar Land.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 11 a.m., Knesek Brother�s Funeral Home, 842
East Main Street, Bellville, TX 77418. Entombment Oak Knoll Mausoleum, Oak Knoll Cemetery, Bellville.
Pallbearers: Paul R. Cherry, Shawn Evans, Jackie W. Gindorf, William G. Pierpont, Jeb Snell,
and Lee Snell.
Friends received from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or charity of
choice.
