WILLIAM ALVIN "SKEETER" MAYFIELD

William Alvin �Skeeter� Mayfield, Sr., 72, of New Ulm passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in New Ulm.

William was born in Atlanta, Texas to Winston Buford and Vester Florell Meador Mayfield on Febr. 5, 1940.

William graduated from Bullard High School Class of 1958.

He married Corliss Maerz on June 3, 1965 in Houston.

William worked as a welder and superintendent for KBR Marine Division, in Houston. William attended the West End Baptist Church in Industry and Airline Drive Baptist Church in Houston. Skeeter served in the U.S. Air Force.

William is survived by his wife Corliss Mayfield of New Ulm, daughter Tracey DeBonis and husband Steve of Milton, Tennessee, two sons Willy Mayfield and wife Rachel of San Antonio and Brian Mayfield and Dawn of Industry; three sisters Elizabeth Bell and husband John of Lake Palestine, Texas, Peggy Bass and husband Elton of Houston, and Jo Ellis and husband Dale of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Harrison Maikle, Jenna DeBonis, Leah DeBonis, Brittney McDaniel, Joshua Mayfield, Jake Mayfield, J-Rae Bennatt, and Brady Mayfield; great-granddaughters Summer DeBonis and Kenzie McDaniel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Bobbie Underwood, step-father Jake Dover, grandparents Julia Meador and Hayden Monroe Meador, and grandparents Dee and Lela Mayfield.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at West End Baptist Church in Industry. Visitation was held on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Home in Bellville. Interment was in Pilgrim�s Rest Cemetery in Industry.
