Janet (Huey) McGuire 10/06/1922 � 05/24/2012 

Janet slipped into the waiting arms of Jesus peacefully the afternoon of May 24, 2012 with her family at her side. Janet will surely be missed. She was the matriarch of her family. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, friend and comforter. Janet never had a bad word for anyone or to anyone or about anyone. 

Born in Lindale, Texas. Janet graduated from High School in Lindale and worked at Kelly Field (Kelly Air Force Base) during WWII. She married Bolie McGuire on June 27, 1942, moving to Houston after WWII. She moved to Kingsville in the early 1950s� and after a year returned to Houston to attend school and received a LVN license and moved to Galveston, Texas. Janet made her final move to New Ulm where she passed away. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church.

Preceded in her passing by: her husband Bolie B. McGuire Jr.; her parents Gussie Lee Huey and Rosa Lee (Paslay) Huey; her brothers Odis Lee Huey, Wallace (Red) Huey and Willis Newton (Jelly) Huey; and her sisters Lillie Pearl (Huey) Nesbit, Lizzie Ruth (Huey) Hester and Jewel Marie (Huey) Boone.

Janet is survived by: her children; sons: Bolie B. McGuire III and wife Miriam of New Ulm, Rodney E. McGuire and wife Cathy, of Houston; daughters: Robbie Colleen Layne, Vickie Lou Osteen both of Galveston; grandchildren Sherry Adkins, Bolie McGuire IV, Traci Wilt, Amy McGuire, Robbie Layne, Adrian Layne, Josh Osteen, and Daneika Osteen; sisters-in-law Oneita Huey and Lorain Huey and  numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, 842 East Main, Bellville, Texas.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Houston National Cemetery with Rev. David Keen, officiating. Interment will follow.
