Bellville Times Charlene �Pete� Worthy Pagel, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away in San Marcos on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at the age of 72. She was born January 4, 1940, in Luling to Everett and Virginia (Boring) Worthy. She was raised in Blanco before moving to San Marcos, where she graduated from San Marcos High School in 1958 and later earned an MBA degree from Sam Houston State University. Charlene was a self-employed Tax Preparer. She relocated to Bellville in 1995. A Houston Texans fan, she enjoyed the outdoors and all outdoor sports. She enjoyed swimming and was a Mermaid at Aquarena Springs. Charlene also enjoyed ranching and playing video games with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her independent, compassionate and giving nature. Her parents, her husband, Kermit Lee Pagel, Sr. (1972) and her sister, Jeanette Posey preceded her in death. She is survived by her life partner, Ellen Ham of Bellville; son, Kermit Lee Pagel, Jr. and wife, Alesya of Houston and their children, Kathleen, Conner and Chloe; two daughters, Carol Lynne Pagel of Bellville and her son, Patrick; and Emily Marie Madeley of San Marcos and her children, Conrad and Paul. Family received friends at Pennington Funeral Home, 5-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in the Pennington Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Todd Salmi officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
