At 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, a Memorial Service will be held at the Home of Robin Guy for her father, Roy Phillips who passed away on April 9, 2012 in Angleton, Texas.

Family and friends will gather at 1107 Winchester Court, Bar X Ranch, in Angleton, Texas to honor him for a life of service and commitment.  

One of 12 children, Mr. Phillips was born on Nov. 23, 1934 in White Deer, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1952 and served in the Korean War.

Throughout his dedicated law enforcement career, Roy served as Police Chief of West Columbia, Texas, and Sealy.  He also was a Deputy for the Brazoria County Sherriff�s Department, as well as the Austin County Sherriff�s Department where he retired. 

Roy is survived by his brother, Dan Phillips and his children, Robin and Gordon Guy of Angleton, Nancy and Anthony Kolojaco of Jones Creek, Bruce and Peggy Phillips of Houston, Glenn and Hilda Taylor of Bells, Renee Baggett of Houston, and Donnie Carrington of Bellville, grandchildren Steven Guy, Michelle Guy, Jenifer Frank, Misty Carpenter, Megan Guy, Lisa Lester, Julie Kolojaco, Stephanie Phillips, Brooke Walton, Jason Phillips, Angela Vaughan, Maria Nicholas, Richard Almaguer, Rachel Hix, Glenn Taylor, April Bang, Erica Valentine, and Clint Burger, great-grandchildren Ethan and Nicholas Guy, Robert Gomez, Emily Guy, Chase Bailey Frank, Mikayla Lester, Vincent and Ava Harris, Niles Waller, Turner Vaughan, Mika and Bo Nicholas, Mikayla and Carolyn Almaguer, Nikki and Taylor Hix, Crimson and Jayden Taylor, Katelyn, Brooklyn and Ashlyn Bang, and Spinner Burger.

In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kendra Phillips of West Columbia and grandson, Justin Burger of Cat Spring.
