 Kermit Kinney �Koy� Teufel, 90, husband of Lorraine Teufel, died Nov. 8, 2012 in Scott & White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, with Pastor Dale Chance officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim�s Rest Cemetery in Industry.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Kermit was born Jan. 4, 1922 in Industry, Texas to Edwin L. and Clara Schiller Teufel and was baptized in Nelsonville Brethren Church of Nelsonville.

He was a graduate of Industry High School.

On Aug. 15, 1948 Kermit married Lorraine Stepan in Nelsonville Brethren Church. He worked in grocery sales, both wholesale and retail.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in WWII as a Sherman tank driver in Company C 711 Tank Division. He participated in the invasion of Okinawa. A highlight of his life was attending his Army reunions all over the United States.

Mr. Teufel was a member of American Legion Post #48, VFW Post #7104 and First United Methodist Church in Brenham. He was also known for his barbecuing skills for his family and Brenham Wholesale. He loved gardening in the country.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Teufel of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Amy Teufel of Houston; and sister-in-law, Ella Mae Teufel of Brenham. Special care givers were Pedro and Yolanda DeLeon, Mary McCullough, Tracey Heard and Maria Lara.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Birdie Mewis and Doris Witt; and brothers, Melvin, Chester, Edgar and Leslie Teufel.

Serving as pallbearers are James Balke, Kenneth Teufel, A.C. Wessels, Charles Mewis, Robert Turner, Randy Raska and Pedro DeLeon.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church of Brenham or American Cancer Society.
