Aline Weiss, 91, of Brenham passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Rose Hill Retirement Home in Bellville.

Aline was born Dec. 16, 1921 in Brenham to Melinda (Rosenbaum) and Paul Ziegenbein.

She was baptized on Feb. 26, 1922 and confirmed April 5, 1936, and on Feb. 17, 1946 she married Delmus Weiss, all in the Salem Lutheran Church.

Aline continued to be a member of Salem Lutheran Church faithfully attending until her move to Rose Hill.

Aline graduated from Brenham High School in 1939 and attended Blinn College. In addition to her role as homemaker, Aline enjoyed her service in Washington County having been employed as secretary for County School Superintendent W. O. �Chick� Dannhaus and County Attorney�s Johnny Lacina and Jay Jones. After the passing of her husband at his early age of 57, Aline had the awesome task and responsibility of raising two teenage children.

Aline is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delmus, who predeceased her Sept. 13, 1972, infant son, James Earl, daughter, Judy Haevischer, who passed July 28, 1999; and brothers Melvin, Gilbert and Lonnie Ziegenbein.

Aline�s loving family who survive her are son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Melissa Weiss of Bellville, son-in-law Gary Haevischer of Brenham; grandchildren Shae (Chad) Westerfeld of Brenham, Bridget Weiss of Bellville, and Lance Weiss of Brenham; great-granddaughter Morgan Westerfeld; sisters-in-law Wilma Ziegenbein of New Ulm and Alene Weiss of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff and �Special Caregivers� at Rose Hill for the special care and attention given to Ms. Aline. She will affectionately be remembered for her quick little smile and twinkling blue eyes.

Visitation was from 5-7 pm, Friday, Dec. 28 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Haevischer, Lance Weiss, Chad Westerfeld, Matthew Bolten, Dick Dietzman and Luther Schwettmann.

Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, Salem Volunteer Fire Dept., or to the charity of your choice.
