Bellville Times Michael Wernecke, 58, of New Ulm passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. He was born Aug. 29, 1954, to Vernon and Frances Markert Wernecke in Houston. He graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1972. He married Janine Worden on April 11, 1981 in Brenham. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bar-b-queing. He was a great cook and enjoyed being around family. He is survived by his wife Janine Wernecke of New Ulm, mother Frances Wernecke of Industry, two sons Dustin Michael Wernecke of Richmond and Colin Wernecke and fianc� Megan Wilkens of Edwards Air Force Base in California, grandson Haden Michael Wernecke of Sealy, granddaughter Danni Brooke Wernecke of Sealy, a sister Karen and husband Kenny Carter of Industry and sister-in-law Terrie Worden Kunec of Lakeway, brother-in-law Vernon Worden and wife Cyndie of New Mexico, a niece Brandi and husband Cory Fleitz of Lakeway, nephews Garrett Carter and fianc� Erin-Beth Hanks of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Michael Worden and wife Melissa of Leander, Matthew Worden and Nathan Worden of New Mexico. Michael was preceded in death by his father Vernon Wernecke, brother-in-law Kim Worden, his father-in-law Sam Worden and mother-in-law Donna Worden. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Knesek Bros Funeral Chapel, 842 East Main, Bellville, with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Family received friends on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel. Interment was in New Ulm Cemetery. Pallbearers were Garrett Carter, Michael Worden, Chase Krueger, Ryan Gillson, Trey Wolfe, Jonathan Frnka, Reggie Stephey and Scott Hinklin.
