JASON'S OBITUARY

Schmidt Funeral Home Bellville TX

Jason Dean Mantey, 46, of Brenham, Texas, passed away October 8, 2020, at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was born January 7, 1974, in Bellville, Texas, to Fred and Joan Meissner Mantey.  He graduated from Bellville High School in 1993 and shortly after high school, he joined the United States Navy serving his country for 4 years, where he was stationed to the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.  After he finished his service, he attended Universal Technical Institute where he obtained a certification in HVAC/AC repair.  He joined the Naval reserves, becoming a Seabee, and deployed to Iraq in 2006.

Jason loved the outdoors and loved to travel.  He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed fishing. 

He is survived by his parents Fred and Joan Mantey of Kenney, Texas;  brother: Steven Mantey and close friend, Tina Lee of Kenney, Texas;  sister: Amy Porter and her husband, Sherman, of Brenham, Texas, and their children, Samuel and Nicolas Porter;  uncles and aunts: James and Brenda Meissner of Kenney, Texas, Janice and Terry Simmons of Troy, Texas, and  Leon Mantey of Brenham, Texas.  Jason was also survived by numerous cousins, dear family, and many friends.  

He was preceded in death by wife, Stacy Pinter Mantey, grandfather, Arthur Meissner, grandmother, Florence Knox, grandfather, Steve Mantey, and grandmother, Lydia Mantey.
