What we currently need
What we would especially like to get is information related to
people who were born, died or lived in Austin County. In particular,
information that does not exist elsewhere or is difficult to find
elsewhere.
Similar information for other counties is also welcome. We will
share the information with the respective TXGenWeb County Coordinators.
We would like to get a copy of the 1858 Austin County Census documents. We have posted excerpts of the documents on this site (here), but would like to provide the original documents for researchers.
Photos of gravestones, especially those at the small gravesites that are more difficult to access. It is likely that photos may already exist, we just need some to post.
If you would like to help out with the website, just a little bit or a whole lot, please speak up. We would like to appoint one or more Assistant County Coordinators. If someone more qualified comes along that would like to take charge, We will be more than happy to step aside. we believe that the website should be managed by someone who has roots here or currently lives in or near the county.
