Bell Settlement Cemetery
Nechanitz, TX;
This cemetery is in Fayette County, but many Lee County residents were
buried there, so it included in our list.

This sign at the base of the cemetery's flagpole honors two Fayette
County men who lost their lives during the Civil War. Both were
privates in the Long Prairie German Company and Company E of Waul's
Texas Legion. Seibelt Hinrich Behrens, 28 Mar 1829 - 9 Jun 1863,
died of wounds at Vicksburg. Hinrich Enno Schumann, 30 Oct 1841 - 10
Nov 1862, died of illness at Oxford. Both are buried in unmarked
graves in Mississippi.
