From Conroe, take I-45 South to the Tamina Road
exit. Take a left at the lights crossing under the freeway. Go straight
(this is still Tamina Road) until you cross railroad tracks; then take a
right turn (this is now Main Street, Oak Ridge North, Texas). Drive
straight along Main Street until you see the Electric Company's
sub-station and slow down immediately. The cemetery will be on your

tracks, and go .04 miles and turn left 1 block after passing Easy Street. At the church turn left. The cemetery is on the right. |

Located in a small grove (formerly Greenwood plantation 1850–1866) it is a short distance from the town of Danville, lying within the Joseph Lindley Survey near the northern boundary of Montgomery County, the cemetery

Sheran McCants: The road to the Yell Pine Grove Cemetery was changed to
the top of a hill (for safer entrance and exit to 149). The state
maintains the road to the cemetery. They took down the sign to the
cemetery when the road was changed. My brother-in-law told me that the
state will not put up a sign (because there is a lock on the gate)
unless it is declared a Historical Site. (There are plans by the
Cemetery Association to put up a sign on our property.)
Yell Cemetery is a private cemetery located off of FM 149 in the woods, south of Montgomery, Texas. It's legal description is that it is located in the Raleigh Rogers League, Abstract No. 33, referenced as the Rogers and Yell burying grounds. Eight Graves |
