Sweetrest Cemetery
aka Tamina Cemetery
Montgomery County Texas

Off of Tamina Road. Turn left after railroad tracks. Turn on Hollis just past a church. A dirt road is straight off the first curve and is right in the middle of a dumping ground and may not be accessible when the ground is wet. Cemetery is at the dead end. The cemetery was in good shape as it was cleaned in 2002 and surveyed but is now mostly underwater in 2019 and a non-profit has been set up:

Tamina Cemetery and Community Project

Sweetrest Cemetery is a 12-acre cemetery in Tamina near The Woodlands and is the resting place for approximately 261 members of the founding Montgomery County community founded by freed slaves. For information on this cemetery contact Rita Yates Wiltz or Elijah Easley.
