Martha Conroe Smith
Obituary

 

Martha Conroe Smith, great-great granddaughter of Isaac Conroe, founder of this city, passed away on March 9, 2015 in Conroe at the age of 91.
 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with William Fielding Smith, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service on Thursday, beginning at Noon.


Mrs. Smith was born on October 21, 1923 in Conroe, Texas to Elbert Isaac and Anna Floy (Williams) Conroe. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas W. Smith; daughter, Kristin Floy Smith; brothers, Thomas E. Conroe, Sr. and William C. Conroe; and sister-in-law, Veleta Conroe.
 

Martha is survived by her loving family: sister-in-law, Norma Conroe; nephews, Christopher Isaac Conroe and wife, Teresa; Thomas E. Conroe, Jr. and wife, Ellen and William Fielding Smith, Jr. and wife, Patricia; nieces, Kelly Rymal and husband, Rudy, Constance Scott and husband, Stan and Starlett Curry; special family; Sandi McFarland, Milton and LeAnne Sallee, and John and Gail Sallee; numerous other dear family members and friends also survive.
 

A special thanks to Kathy Shanks and Pam Hawkins for all of their love, support and care.
 

Pallbearers: Christopher I. Conroe, William Fielding Smith, Jr., Thomas E. Conroe, Jr., Milton W. Sallee, Joshua W. Sallee, Jarrid Thomas Sallee, Larry Raus and Stuart Scott.
