big birthday bash planned this weekend for former Conroe ISD educator
Lucille Bradley, who will be 100 on Saturday, has been postponed until
further notice after Bradley fell and suffered a broken hip.
Bradley was eating with friends Nov. 3 at a local restaurant in Conroe
when she fell, said Leatha Moore, Bradly’s niece. She had surgery the
Moore said she is stable and doing well.
“She spoke a little to me Monday night and called my name,” Moore said.
“I’ve never seen her sick before.”
The celebration was to include a fellowship at Booker T. Washington
Junior High, a car parade, a banquet at River Plantation Country Club
and a worship service at Bradley’s church on Sunday.
The cost of the banquet was $30 and Moore said that people can have
their money refunded.
Upon hearing of Bradley’s broken hip, many of the potential guests
donated their money for Bradley’s recovery, Moore said.
“I just thank everyone who contributed to her and I’ll make sure it goes
to her,” Moore said.
