Cpl. Joseph Daniel Logan

Cpl. Joseph Daniel Logan, born September 6, 1989, passed away on January 19, 2012, in a military helicopter crash in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Cpl. Logan was a 2008 graduate of Willis High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps November, 2008. He served 2 deployments in Afghanistan. His awards and honors include an Air Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and NATO ISAF Medal.

Cpl. Logan is survived by his wife, Melissa Rushing; parents Tom and Debi Logan; brother Tommy Logan and wife Windy; brother Robert Logan; sister Tricia Nickel and husband Charles; sister Andrea Logan; grandparents Carol and Gene Miehlke; grandmother Sylvia Logan; nephews Shane Logan, Austin Logan, and Daniel Nickel; niece Rebecca Nickel; and numerous other relatives.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31 from 6-8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 1 at 3 PM at the North Montgomery County Community Center, 600 Gerald St, Willis, TX. Memorial donations may be made in Cpl. Logan's honor to the Friends of the Fallen, P. O. Box 2081, Dover Air Force Base, DE 19902.
